This year’s South Western Ontario Pork Conference boasts an excellent lineup of speakers, including Dr. Gail Cunningham, a food animal veterinarian and epidemiologist. Dr. Cunningham will be discussing the challenges and opportunities around changes to antibiotic uses on farm and antimicrobial resistance during her Feature Presentation on February 17, 2016.

Dr. Cunningham, a technical service veterinarian with Boehringer Ingelheim in Alberta, is a dynamic speaker with a passion for Food, Farm and Family. Dr. Cunningham recently spoke at the Banff Pork Seminar (January 2016), and delivered an excellent presentation on the facts surrounding on farm use of antibiotics, and antimicrobial resistance.

The South Western Ontario Pork Conference is designed to be responsive to the grassroots pork industry and its producers. Practical information is presented for producers to manage their farming operations for profitability. In addition to Dr. Cunningham, the program includes a producer profile and a local update, as well as presentations on pest management, record keeping and benchmarking. Opportunities to network with sponsors, producers and other industry representatives are plenty, especially during the trade show and dinner portions of the program.
